V4 and German issues has been set

To full fill the project research goals, the country specific issues will reflect, how the parties politicise following national identity related issues. For each country up to 3 issues has been selected. They represent the political and societal state of each country. The data gathering will follow.

Updating of database on political parties

The database on nationalism and national identity of political parties will be enlarged during autumn 2013 as follows:
- manifestos for general election (Poland 2010, Slovakia 2012, the Czech Republic 2013)
- categorisation of the German political parties in time period 2005 - 2013

The database will cover country issues relevant for national context of national identity as well. The data sources will reflect the parties' public activities.

Preparatory meeting in Brno - project was started

The project coordinator EUROPEUM hosted in Brno at the end of August the coordinating meeting with all partners to discuss the key questions and tasks for coming months. Main task of the meeting was clarifying the methodology of data collection, set-up the time frame of the cooperation and prepare good existence of the partnership. The team found out reliable concept of data collection. During Autumn 2013 the data will be collected as well as the definition of country specific issues will be set. About further progress we will inform soon.

Euroskop informed about project National Populism in the Visegrad Countries

In an interview promoting project National Populism in the Countries of Visegrad webzine Euroskop informed about the first results of the research. Besides other issues you can here read why is Viktor Orbán proud Hungarian, what Visegrad means for political parties in four Central European countries and how they define their identities.
